LARKANA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Saturday said that it will be decided after election results whether to form a coalition government or to sit in the opposition, however, he added that he hopes his party will form government in Sindh solely and in center coalition government could be formed.
Khuhro was addressing a press conference at Larkana press club where Tahreek-e-Nifaz-e-Fiqa-Jafferia (TNFJ) Sindh leaders Waqar Ashraf, Amar Yasir and others announced to support PPP in Sindh and urged their supporters to vote for arrow.
Khuhro said forming coalition government is part of democracy and when political parties have no majority then there is no harm to form a coalition government. He, however, said final decision regarding this would be made after the general elections.
Khuhro said Bhasha dam may be constructed on the upper side of Tarbella dam not after it but “it should be specific for producing electricity purposes only and not for irrigation purposes”.
The PPP leader said that Kalabagh Dam has already been rejected by three assemblies because it is poisonous for the three provinces. “It will never be built nor shall we allow it to be constructed,” he added.
“Free, fair and transparent elections should be held and there should not be any dishonesty in the election results,” said Khuro, adding to restrict PPP from running election campaign would be a question mark over the transparency of the elections.
Khuhro disclosed the PPP chairman will arrive in Larkana tonight and lead his election campaign for NA-200 himself and other party candidates here and in the adjoining districts.
He said democracy and Sindh will be saved from all conspiracies at any cost. He alleged that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) are talking about dividing Sindh into various provinces but, he claimed, PPP will neither tolerate division of Sindh nor involve itself in any compromise.
