Two policemen were martyred on Thursday in an explosion near their vehicle in Maidan area of Lower Dir.
Media reports said that the explosion, in which the SHO and the constable were martyred, left two other policemen injured. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital after security officials reached the site of the blast.
Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk has condemned the incident and extended condolences to the families of the martyred policemen.
Helicopter Crash
Separately, a Frontier Corps (FC) soldier lost his life when an army aviation helicopter crash landed near Quetta on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the soldier was being flown from Kahan in Kohlu district of Balochistan to Quetta to be hospitalized for his injuries when the helicopter crashed.
At least six crew-members got minor injuries. They were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital for treatment, the Quetta DIG said.
On May 8, a training plane, which departed from Walton Airport, in Lahore had crashed, leaving the two pilots who were flying it with minor injuries.
According to an eyewitness, the plane had crashed after catching fire. The aircraft was a Rans S6-ESD-XL Coyote II a Kit and Light Sport Aircraft. The single-engine, wooden-propellor was manufactured in 1997 and was registered in London. In 2012 the aircraft was registered in Pakistan.
